No. The GRE is optional. 

Most classes meet in the evenings, in order to accommodate students who may work during the day. We also offer a smaller selection of classes throughout the day for full-time MPP students who are not working.

Classes are offered Fall, Spring, and Summer, as well as online (with permission).

The majority of courses are offered in seminar classrooms and average between 10 to 15 students.

Yes. Any course available through the UOnline Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program that is part of the Master of Public Policy (MPP) curriculum may be taken with the permission of the MPA/MPP Program Director.

Yes. Any course available that is listed on the Master of Public Administration (MPA) elective course list may be completed in order to fufill the Master of Public Policy (MPP). You will notice that list contains some approved electives from other departments, schools or colleges at our university.

Elective courses must be approved by the MPA/MPP Program Director.

Typically, the MPP program takes two years to complete. However, it can be completed in 18 months, depending on course load, summer courses, and/or intersession attendance.

The Graduate School requires that all work be completed within 6 years of the time of admission to a graduate program.

A maximum of 6 credits of graduate study may be transferred into the MPP program, with approval of the MPA/MPP Program Director and the Graduate School.

Transferred courses must have a grade of B or higher.

Students enrolled in 8 credits or less are considered part-time. Students enrolled 9 or more credits (three courses) are considered full-time.

Some full-time MPP students occasionally take four courses per semester (12 credits). Students who wish to take 5 courses (15 credits) per semester must obtain permission from the MPA/MPP Program Director and the Graduate School.
